　　Satta A Masa Gana / The Abyssinians

言わずと知れたRoots Rockの金字塔。
聖書に深く影響を受けた、ラスタファリ賛歌。精神的な信念を強く感じる。

この曲は元々、1969年にCoxsoneのもとでレコーディングされていたのだが、
Coxsoneはこの曲を売れる見込みがないと判断しマスターをお蔵入りとしていた。
その2年後、Abyssiniansが自らのレーベルCLINCHを立ち上げ、Coxsoneからマスターを
買い取り世に出したという逸話がある。

The AbyssiniansのメンバーはCarlton & The ShoesのCarlton Manningと共に活動していたLynford Manning, Donald Manning(3人は兄弟）にリードシンガー Bernard Collinsのトリオグループ。

演奏の方はCoxsoneのスタジオバンドのはずだが詳細は分からず。
唯一、BassがLeroy sibblesだということを本人がインタビューで語っている。
伝統的なラスタの打楽器、バスドラム、フンデ、リピーターも使われていて土着臭い
まさに崇高な仕上がり。
